For well over 40 years the Crown Heights Service Center has been a Beacon of Light and direction for so many in the Crown Heights Community. Whether it was homework assistance, tutorial help, or referrals for those challenged with tenant/landlord issues exacerbated by the everyday ebbs and flows of life. The mentoring, leadership and education training was a natural flow that came as a result of the Mr. and Miss Crown Heights Pageant.

My son has grown tremendously while attending the program. During the academic year, there was always time dedicated for homework, the arts and character development. The staff was attentive and really created a family- like environment. This program is essential to the Youth in our community. It offers opportunities for Our Young People to be compassionate to each other, develop leadership skills, and instill a sense of purpose. April Blount, B.A., M.Ed
